Project Merchandise

Project Merchandise is a sustainability-driven organisation determined to change the branded merchandise industry. They take on an industry that is primarily based on cheap and/or disposable products by curating a collection of high-quality responsibly sourced products that reflect strong environmental and social values.

The Challenge:

In order to modernize their online presence and differentiate themselves in the sustainable merchandise sector, Project Merchandise required a comprehensive website makeover. The old site leaned way too much on plugins, pre-made themes, and page builders, which made it slow and kind of stiff. They needed a full rebuild, something that actually shows what they’re about, makes it easier for people to get around, and just feels more interesting to use.

The results:

Project Merchandise’s old website relied on pre-made themes and plugins, which made it feel a bit generic. We decided to rebuild it from scratch to give them something truly unique.

We hand-coded a custom block library for WordPress, which makes the site fast and easy to update. One of my favorite parts is the custom inquiry system—customers can pick products, upload logos, set quantities, and send a detailed request, all in one place.

As the business grew, we made sure the site stayed quick with caching and a smarter search that highlights key products and seasonal items. Now the site is fast, easy to use, and ready to grow with Project Merchandise.
