Surrey Development Forum
The Surrey Development Forum was set up in 2020 from a recognition that better communication and sharing of best practice is needed between developers, planners and local authorities, if we are to meet Surrey’s 2050 ambitions. Since then, the forum has continued to grow to 30 private sector members and engagement from Surrey’s local authorities.
The Challenge:
The Surrey Development Forum needed a brand-new website to establish a professional online presence and provide a central space for collaboration between local authorities and developers across Surrey. As a growing organisation, SDF required a platform that could clearly communicate its purpose, host important documents, and make it easy for members and stakeholders to access the latest information.
Accessibility and usability were key priorities from the beginning. The website needed to meet WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards, ensuring that all users, regardless of ability or device, could navigate and interact with the content with ease. Another essential feature was the development of a secure login system, allowing authorised members to access specific areas and resources not available to the public.

We designed and developed the Surrey Development Forum’s first official website — a clean, modern, and accessible platform that reflects the organisation’s collaborative vision and professional approach.
The site successfully achieved AA-level accessibility compliance, demonstrating our commitment to inclusive design through clear typography, contrast, responsive layouts, and compatibility with assistive technologies. To support the Forum’s ongoing work, we implemented a structured document library where users can browse, filter, and download key publications, reports, and event materials with ease.
The login functionality provides secure access for members and administrators, supporting internal collaboration while keeping sensitive materials protected. Behind the scenes, the CMS was configured to make managing content, documents, and members straightforward, even for non-technical users.
The completed website gives the Surrey Development Forum a strong and lasting digital foundation — one that communicates their values, enhances accessibility, and supports collaboration across Surrey’s development community.
